The telecommunications equipment to be connected to a public network and radio installations are subject to pre type approval by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT).
New Type approval - Application files and Forms
For an applicant having subscribed to the commitment of Annex 2 of decision ANRT/DG / N ° 12/04 of December 29, 2004
The application for Type approval entails submitting the following:
The application form (Appendix 1);
Technical documentation to determine the interfaces contained in the equipment, all of its features and standards. For radio installations, this documentation must indicate the relevant radio characteristics of the equipment (frequency band, power, the SAR value or equivalent field-level).
A prospectus or short technical report identifying the interfaces contained in the equipment.
This request can be sent electronically to the address (agrement@anrt.ma). However, the original of such documents, duly signed and stamped, need to be forwarded to the ANRT within the deadlines set in Annex 2 of the decision)
For an applicant having NOT committed to the commitment of Annex 2 of decision ANRT/DG/ N°12/04 of December 29, 2004
The Type approval application form (Appendix 1) duly signed and stamped on company letterhead;
For corporations, a certificate of registration in the Moroccan commercial register (this certificate is filed once a year by the applicant);
Technical documentation to determine the interfaces contained in the equipment, all of its features and standards. For radio installations, this documentation must indicate the relevant radio characteristics of the equipment (frequency band, power, the SAR value or equivalent field-level and all its features;
Proof of payment of the non-refundable processing fees in the amount of MAD 600 (all taxes included) per equipment.
New Type approval - Comments
The applicant for type approval shall include telecommunications interfaces and equipment for which he or she is seeking approval and the technical specifications to which they comply. There are two distinct cases:
Declarative system: the applicant declares that their equipment complies with respect to national type approval specifications published by the ANRT. In this case, a simple review of the application is needed before issuing the required certification.
Non-Declarative system: the applicant declares that their equipment complies with respect to unpublished type approval. In this case, the ANRT may request additional documentation and/or of a sample for testing before deciding on the type approval.
Type approval is granted for a period of 10 years.
Certificate of type approval for an already type approved equipment
Application File and Forms
The application file consists of:
The type approval application form (Appendix 1) duly signed and stamped on company letterhead;
For corporations, a certificate of registration in the Moroccan commercial register (this certificate is filed once a year by the applicant).
In the case of an approved terminal or radio installation having undergone - after its type approval - changes without any incidence on its technical specifications on the basis of which it had been type approved, the request for certificate of approval consists of the following documents:
A commitment from the applicant stating that the equipment in question is consistent with the technical specifications of the approved version;
Technical documentation;
For corporations, a certificate of registration in the commercial register.

Notes
The certificate of type approval may be granted for the import of terminal equipment or radio installation already approved by the ANRT;

Import by individuals in their personal capacity and in single amount of unauthorized telecommunications equipment is permitted upon payment at the customs of the commitment contained in Appendix 3 of decision ANRT/DG / N 12/04 of December 29, 2004 duly completed and signed. The equipment covered by this procedure is:
Marking requirement
Any terminal equipment or approved radio installation shall be, prior to its commercialization, be labelled with an irremovable tag - see the model in Annex 4, pursuant to decision ANRT/DG/N° 12/04 of December 29, 2004.
Any equipment for sale to the public and not properly labelled is considered unauthorized.

Thus, only telecommunications equipment that is in accordance with designs approved by the ANRT and bears the adequate making label can:
Under Article 29 of Law No. 24-96, the ANRT's mandate includes establishing the administrative aspects of the certification specifications for terminal equipment and radio installations. Several decisions have governed the Type approval of equipment. Since 1999, the ANRT has made several changes to the process by simplifying and adapting it to the best international regulatory processes and to market expectations. In this context, the ANRT adopted decision ANRT/DG/N ° 12/04 of December 29, 2004 (entered into force on February 3, 2005) repealing and replacing decision ANRT/DG/No. 01/03 of 17 March 2003.
This decision asks companies subscribing to the commitment of Annex 2, the following:
Non-compliance of the various regulatory and technical provisions for type approval and lays the perpetrator open to the provisions of Article 81 of Law No. 24-96.
