Delegation from the Mauritanian Regulatory Authority visits ANRT

From April 27th-29th 2012, ANRT received a delegation from the Mauritanian Regulatory Authority (ARE). Chaired by Mr. Naji Mohamed Mahmoud, a member of the National Regulatory Council (college of ARE) and former Minister, the delegation consisted of:

  • M. Ely Haimoud, member of CNR
  • M. Abdallahi Maham, Director of Telecommunications and Regulatory Authority
  • Mrs. Hawa Diop, Manager at the Department of Telecommunications

Along with the ANRT team, the four representatives reviewed several aspects of the Moroccan experience in terms of telecommunications regulation such as interconnection, unbundling, the designation of operators, and regulatory audits.

The interest of the managers of the Mauritanian Regulatory Authority in the Moroccan experience is explained by a number of similarities between the themes handled by the two institutions. These themes are mainly on market regulation as well as information collection within the framework of activities of the Telecommunications Markets Observatory.
